Taylor Events

Next sale dates
The City of Taylor will again offer two Citywide Garage Sale periods in 2022. The first will be from May 27-June 5, and the second from August 19-28. Each of these periods will enable participants to have two full weekends of garage sales, should weather be a problem during one of the weekends. No permit is required to hold your garage sale during these dates only.
Take note of the following:
- Residents hosting sales should hold them in relatively open areas
- Residents hosting sales on their property should provide disposal containers, lined in plastic bags, that can be easily sealed and disposed of, during and after their events
- Keep any advertising signage for your sale out of public right-of-ways, or easements.
After the sales
When any citywide rummage sale ends, unwanted items can be disposed of at the Taylor Hills Transfer Station and Compost Site at 16300 Racho Road Mondays through Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m.
Residents will be required to use any available free dump privileges or pay the cost to dispose of any unwanted items. No commercial dumping is permitted. No explosives, autos and auto parts, boats, concrete, hazardous waste, compost materials, tree branches, or tires will be accepted.

In 2021, Happy Soles participants helped Fish and Loaves Community Food Pantry purchase enough food to distribute over 1.7 million pounds of food to 21,634 households. For all of those that laced up their sneakers in 2021, we can’t thank you enough for your support of the Fish and Loaves mission. But we need your help again this year!
The Challenges
1. Happy Soles will be held at Taylor Heritage Park Sheridan Pavilion. A new route will take the racers through the beautiful Heritage Park. Our Racers can run, walk or bike the route. If you are uncomfortable joining us for the event, please feel free to once again participate virtually. We appreciate your support.
2. We need a Tagline for Happy Soles 2022. Please submit your tagline to happysoles5k@flcfp.org by May 1, 2022. Tagline winner will be awarded an entry to the 2023 Happy Soles 5k.
3. The final piece of the challenge comes in the form of fundraising! Registration for Happy Soles is $35 per person but this year, due to increased demand for food resources, we’re encouraging you to fundraise as you strive to hit your mileage goal. Within your dashboard, you have the ability to create a fundraising page to track your efforts and share them with friends and family using your own social and email channels. Help motivate them to join you in the miles or in fundraising for your goal!

The first 300 participants will receive a Happy Soles Medal.
