The Chevrolet Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix is a three–day racing festival held at Belle Isle Park in Detroit. The event features the cars of the Verizon IndyCar Series in two full-points races, called the Chevrolet Dual in Detroit presented by Quicken Loans. Also on the track are the sports cars of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in the Chevrolet Sports Car Classic presented by the Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers and the trucks of the SPEED Energy Stadium SUPER Trucks presented by Traxxas running three races throughout the weekend. Off the track, the event is full of fun for fans of all ages in the Meijer Fan Zone, featuring interactive displays by Detroit sports teams, music on the MotorCity Casino Hotel Entertainment stage, the Leinenkugel’s Biergarten & Food Court and much more. 2019 8th Annual Healing of our Nations Pow Wow
The Turtle Island Dream Keepers will hold its 8th Annual Healing of the Nations Pow Wow on June 22nd and 23rd 2019. Bring family and friends to join and learn about traditional Indian drumming, dance, and song. Artisans and native foods will be available. Grand Entry on Saturday is at 1 PM and 6 PM and Sunday at 12 noon. Turtle Island Dream Keepers is an organization dedicated to educating about Indian culture to all who are interested in learning. Downriver’s largest summer festival, Uncle Sam Jam,
returns to Woodhaven July 11-14, 2019. This annual FREE family-fun festival takes place in Civic Center Park (located at I-75 and West Road) during the Downriver Community’s Independence holiday celebration.
SAVE THE DATE! July 19-21 is the 67th Annual PNC Bank Roar on the River. This year’s races will feature new events but the same great food and fun. We are also happy to welcome back PNC Bank as our Title Partner for the 2019 boat races. We are grateful for their dedication to this event, as well as to the community.

Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning.
Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and backgrounds. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.
Bring your lawn chair and head down to Elizabeth Park for the sweet sounds of Motown! There will be food & beverage vendors selling a variety of delicious food. There is a $5 parking donation requested.
