So many things to do Downriver during the holiday season! Our calendar is Downriver’s ONLY resource that has all the community events from 18 Downriver cities, all in one place!
You’ll find something for everyone to enjoy the season! From breakfast with Santa to your city’s tree lighting to unique pop-up fun from a small business, we’ve got it here!

Now in its 50th year, the Grosse Ile Historical Society’s (GIHS) Holiday Gift Boutique features one of the biggest selections ever of Grosse Ile related gifts and other treasures. Wander through rooms adorned with vintage decor, discover heirloom-quality gifts, baked goods, seasonal decor, and savor the spirit of holidays past and present. Come for the nostalgia, stay for the magic!

The Wayne County Lightfest is a magical five-mile stretch of Hines Park, displaying nearly 50 animated themed displays and more than 100,000 lights.
The Lightfest will be open Wednesday – Sunday from Thursday, November 20, 2025 until Sunday, December 24, 2025 from 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. The Lightfest will be closed Monday and Tuesday evenings. There will be two bonus days the LightFest will be open on Monday, December 22 and Tuesday, December 23!
Lightfest Fees
– Cars $5.00 cash
– Commercial van/RV/limo $20.00 cash
– Mini-Bus (20 passenger) $25.00 cash
– Bus (40+ passenger) $50.00 cash —

Join us on our holiday stroll with lights, characters, & a walk through the barn! Make sure to bring your camera for plenty of photo ops. Time slots available; pre-purchased tickets guarantee admission. First time slot is 6 p.m. and the last time slot is 8:30 pm; must be at the gate by 8:45 p.m. to enter! Entrance and exit at the Heritage Park Petting Farm.
