By December, holiday parades and Santa-filled celebrations bring families together one last time for the year. From honoring heroes to welcoming the holidays, Downriver parades keep community pride shining all year long.

Our festival begins with the Parade of Lights, where everything is aglow, from bicycles to cement trucks. Thousands of people line Goddard Road to wait for the fun. Our street festival offers wonderful music, food, crafts, and games for all ages. Visit or enter our Classic Car Show, Craft and Vendor Show, or just relax and listen to music. Our Downtown Festival is a celebration of friends and family; a harvest celebration that generates an enthusiastic spirit and regenerates our sense of Community.
Nov21Sat2026 The parade begins at Northline near the Police/Court Building and travels south along Biddle Avenue, ending at Eureka Avenue. The event typically lasts about an hour and concludes with the arrival of Santa Claus!

America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit is one of the city’s most beloved holiday traditions, bringing thousands of spectators downtown each year.
Held every Thanksgiving morning along Woodward Avenue, the parade features colorful floats, giant balloons, marching bands, and live performances that kick off the holiday season in a big way.
Organized by The Parade Company, this long-running event dates back to 1924 and continues to be a highlight for families across the region.
