Everyone Needs a Jim Jacek in Their Community ❤️

If you’ve been to a Downriver festival, community, or civic event, chances are you’ve run into Jim Jacek!

Known as one of Downriver’s true ambassadors, Jim is always ready with a kind word, a big smile, and a perfectly timed one-liner. If you spot the giant camera flash, you know Jim is nearby, capturing moments that matter.

Through the years, Jim has snapped thousands upon thousands of photos of Downriver events, places, and—most importantly—people. And when he’s not behind the camera, he’s keeping the energy going as a local DJ extraordinaire, spinning tunes and setting the vibe.

Originally from Dearborn and now calling Allen Park home with his wife, Diane, Jim’s love for this community shines through everything he does.

Jim’s family fondly recalls a story from his childhood that still brings smiles today. Long before cameras and community events, a young Jim set up a small candy stand in the neighborhood, stocking it with armfuls of candy bars so the local kids wouldn’t have to make the walk to the corner store. It’s a sweet memory—and an early glimpse of Jim’s thoughtful, can-do spirit.

Recently, Jim was honored with the prestigious Paul Harris Award from the Trenton Rotary, recognizing his outstanding service and dedication to our community.
