Category 5: Always Taking Downriver by Storm!

Category 5 has been taking Downriver by storm for years — and if you’ve ever seen them live, you already know why. Formed in September 2006, this high-energy classic rock band brings the sound and style of arena rock straight to the club, delivering a great time had by all, every single show.

Founded by Lincoln Park native Kevin Davis, Category 5 is known for its charisma, personality, and exceptional talent. The band’s chemistry is undeniable, and it shows both on and off the stage. This is a tight-knit group of musicians who truly love what they do — and it’s contagious.

Their musical palate spans decades, covering hits from the 1960s through the 2000s, blending everyday dance favorites with epic rock anthems. From Prince, Van Halen, and The Beatles to The Cars, Tom Petty,  and Foo Fighters, Category 5’s setlist has something for everyone. Whether you’re there to dance, sing along, or soak in the musicianship, they know how to entertain both casual fans and hard-core music lovers alike.

And of course, no Category 5 show would be complete without their Pink Floyd light show — a hands-down fan favorite that takes the live experience to another level.
